My Heart -C S

I have to admit that when the cardiologist gave me the diagnosis -- and prescribed the drugs to treat it -- it frightened me. Then, when I had side effects from the drugs within 7 days -- it frightened me even more. Not to mention the fact that no attempt was being made to find the cause of my heart problems. And so, I sought what is thought of in this vast land of Western Medicine as "alternative treatment." "Yes," Don said, when he answered the phone (Note: when I called for my first appointment he answered the phone himself!) "I think I can help you with that." So soft spoken and yet so assured he was. So simple and yet, so profoundly complex his treatment was. "I just want you to know it's not going to be a straight road to your goal -- it's going to be more like this..." he waved his hand up and down in the air to show me. So now, four weeks later, my symptoms are basically gone. Every now and then -- about every three/four days, I have one of those waves Don showed me with his hand -- but for the vast majority of the time, say 95-98% of the time, I'm not in fibrillation and I am ever so grateful. Do I "like" acupuncture? Can't say that I do, not the laying there while he's putting the needles in part, or even the strange feelings the needles bring about after they're in. But do I like the results? You bet I do. There is absolutely no doubt in my mind but that I wouldn't have gotten this far down the road to health and healing were it not for the expertise, the vast knowledge, the experience, the confidence and the kindness -- not to mention the "light touch" (one always hopes for your acupuncturist to have a light touch) of Don Lightner. I have already referred one family member to him for treatment and I wouldn't hesitate to enthusiastically refer to him anyone else I happen to know. If you've wondered about acupuncture and whether it can help you -- Don Lightner is the doctor of Chinese Medicine to seek out for your treatment.

I’ve been seeing Don for over a decade and now consider him my primary doctor. At first I was a little skeptical because I hadn’t had very good results from a community acupuncture clinic that I had tried for a while earlier, but he was highly recommended for daily anxiety attacks I’d been having for about two years after a traumatic event. Sure enough, within a couple of days I felt an improvement, and after three weeks of acupuncture and being on a custom herbal formula, my daily anxiety attacks completely went away. This felt miraculous (especially since I had tried just about everything else, including anti-anxiety medication), so I started going to him for other issues, from lifelong irritants, stomach bugs and periodic sickness, to major illnesses and healing from injuries. I always get great results. At this point I would trust Don with my life.

And in fact, I did just that when I had Covid early on in the pandemic. I had been sick for six weeks and my blood oxygen was dangerously low. My allopathic doctor said I would need to be hospitalized, but I called Don as a last-ditch effort, even though we were all under lockdown. I was worried about getting him sick, and thought his office was closed, but he immediately called in an herbal formula and arranged for a safe pickup. Within two hours I could feel a difference! My severe headache, which I’d had for six weeks at that point, completely went away, and by the next morning I was breathing normally. I truly believe that Don saved my life.

I’ve met several of his other patients who have had similar experiences too, and I’ve recommended him to virtually everyone I know. He’s a true master and healer. And on top of that, he shares his office with his wife, Heather, who is a healer in her own right as well, and he works directly with Yong Sheng, so he has access to the full spectrum of healing arts. And lastly, his office is gorgeous. It feels like a retreat every time I go. Tucson is incredibly fortunate to have him, and I can’t recommend him highly enough.

I have received both bodywork / massage and also acupuncture and herbs from the practitioners at Kimon Wellness. I have received treatment from many different providers in Tucson, and I can say that I have a much more elevated experience here. They are clearly very studied and seem to have devoted their lives to their practice, and I feel confident that I'm receiving the best care. I never feel like I should go ask a second opinion elsewhere. I am often shocked at the results I see after one or two treatments.

I have been Don Kimon’s patient for about 20 years. Over the course of our work together, using acupuncture and herbs he eliminated a longstanding and painful intestinal burn which western medicine could not identify or treat, as well as severe back spasms which had flattened me off and on since childhood, and healed a very weak and troublesome right ankle which I had considered genetic and incurable. He lessened the pain of a broken tooth and resulting dental surgery from excruciating to uncomfortable, and calmed years of migraine pain down from often and severe to occasional and mildly annoying. I’m currently in treatment for and recovering from stagnant liver chi, the illness called plum pit disorder, and CPTSD. I’m 83 now, and I wouldn’t be here without him as healer and friend. Three bows.

I had a terrible shingles outbreak that covered my face and was inside my eye. It made me legally blind in that eye. Don gave me some herbs to drink and it has taken away the outbreak and pain and over time I have regained about fifty percent of my vision in that eye enabling me to drive again. I am so grateful for Don’s knowledge and experience.

YONG SHENG HERBS

It is a pleasure to recommend to you Donald Lightner, L.Ac. who has offered his herbal consultation services at our Chinese herb store since 2013.

During his studies in acupuncture school (27 years ago), he would often come to our store to familiarize himself with Chinese medicine. His dedication to gaining expertise and to creating a strong foundation in becoming a Chinese medicine practitioner is admirable and inspiring, and it is evident in his care for his patients. Many of his patients come to our store to buy Chinese medicine, and they always express to me their praises and trust for him.

In the eleven years that Donald has come our store to consult and diagnose patients, he is proven to be a valuable, respectable, and excellent doctor. I am confident that Donald will continue to excel in his passion for Chinese medicine and acupuncture.
